Nurse Laurie called again, June 27 appt with Dr.W and June 29 is my bi-lateral mastectomy.
Dr. M talked with Mark and I quite a little about re-constructive surgery... we have opted not to do it. We went through the pros and cons and the only pros were 'looks' and it sounds like a lot of pain from the ladies at the 'round' table (breast cancer support group) that have had it done.  UH ...No!  huh uh! No thank you...

My guts feel bloated from the vanilla shake that I drank last night and I have to bloat some more with the second jug that I have to guzzle at 10:00.  I hope this CT scan does not squeeze me cuz it ain't a gonna be pretty!
I think that this next month will give me and my friend, Naturopathic nurse & coach, Wild Woman and I a chance  to bond in a different capacity. (Her real name is Janice by the way).  She will walk with me through the benefits of what foods I should be eating to make this journey a healthier one for my body. She will also help me out with some things after my surgery because she worked as an OR nurse when I met her a few years ago.  Another angel that the Lord brought into my life because He knew I would need her in the future...a dear friend.
Yesterday Mark and I bought a birthday gift for Summer and Pier 1 forgot to take the price tags off, so here I go to peel off 18 stickers! Her birthday is not until Monday but Dana is coming by today to leave gift for Marks birthday which is today and pick up her gift, as well as friends from the airport that are flying in from AZ.  So here I go to peel away stickers.
Have a great week end everyone and I love you all!

Good morning Miss Julie. You are so very brave to be sharing this heart rending journey you are on. Lately I have been wakened by the Lord (wide awake) at odd hours of the night and every time you and Mark come to mind. I believe that this is my "watch" to be praying.
Did you know our precious Lord saves our tears?

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
Psalm 56:8 KJV

also:

You've kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book.
Psalm 56:8 Message

I believe between you and me (and the many many people who love you so much!) we have probably kept Him pretty busy :)
Give Mark a great big birthday hug from Smitty and I. We love you both so much!
Love, Carla

Oh, I love that Ps. 56:8 from the Message Bible! Thanks, Carla! And Happy Birthday to Mark {{hugs}}!! Julie, I always thought it would be fun to work in OB, but I spent my career in OR, not OB, not that it matters at all.

Oh, and Julie, get your Message Bible and read Ps. 91. It's pretty cool, too. It says that there is going to be a party! Let's start planning for it!
Love, Janice

Janice, the whole time I was typing the part about you I was thinking OR not OB! Chemo brain, maybe just 61 year old brain, maybe just doing more than one thing at a time :) Good to see you today.

Goodmorning Lala and Papa! I am waiting for D to wake up (and the rest of the house) so I can open treasures! I love that Dana was able to visit with you both. It makes me feel like I was there. To hear him say how great you both look and how beautiful your house is made my heart feel good. After he said "Your Moms room is amazing!" I said "I told you my Dad was talented, he can do incredible things." I said it like I had been there or that I myself had taught him his craft. HA! It reminded me of the bad haircuts I have given people because "my mother cuts hair, of COURSE I can do it!" I tell you this because it is very hard for me not to own your experience. I want to tell you "I know what you are going through", I don't have a clue. I don't think anyone that hasn't had the big C does know. Your journey is teaching me to just be,it is a lesson I relearn every single day. I'm amazed at what your journey is doing for so many people. I'm excited for you to spend time with Janice. I wish I could plug into her brain and take some of her knowledge;) You and Dad are amazing and wonderful. I love you bye.
